Yield Q&R Engineer

Location: Jerusalem
Department: Engineering
Reports To: VP Engineering

Role Summary

As a Yield, Quality & Reliability Engineer at our high-growth hardware startup, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and yield of our optical connectivity products designed for high-speed data transfer. You will be responsible for analyzing yield data, managing disposition limits, supporting change control processes, and maintaining compliance with quality systems, including ISO standards. Your expertise will help drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet production targets and uphold product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve yield related to DY/LY and Rel signals.
  • Manage disposition limits, make data-driven decisions for product release or rework.
  • Support change control processes, including documentation and implementation of design and process changes.
  • Maintain and enhance quality systems in compliance with ISO standards and internal QA protocols.
  • Prepare and participate in ISO inspections and audits, ensuring readiness and compliance
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, design, and quality teams to identify root causes of yield issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Support failure analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production yield.
  • Document and track all quality issues, change requests, and corrective actions accurately.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years experience in yield engineering, quality assurance, or manufacturing in optical or electronics hardware industries.
  • Familiarity with optical connectivity products, high-speed data transfer systems, and related testing protocols.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, ISO standards, and audit processes.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, JMP).
  • Strong understanding of DY/LY, Rel signals, and disposition limits.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced growth environment.
  • Hands-on experience with process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, LEAN).
  • Familiarity with PCB manufacturing, optical module assembly, or related processes.
  • Knowledge of automation, test equipment, and statistical process control.

Technical Skills

  • Data analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Quality management systems and documentation.
  • Knowledge of optical and high-speed data transfer testing standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/ISO 13485 or related standards.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Design and simulate electro-optic packaging solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Inspection & Integration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in assembling, testing, and troubleshooting sensitive optical components and fibers with small tolerances. The successful candidate must exhibit a high level of precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment. Proficiency in using specialized tools and instruments for optical assembly is essential.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Test and troubleshoot optical systems to detect and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct visual inspections of components and assembled systems to ensure they meet stringent quality standards.
  • Assemble and glue optical components and fibers with high precision according to engineering drawings and
  • pecifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, test results, and other documentation related to the assembly process.
  • Collaborate with design team, mechanical engineering, quality control, and production departments to ensure efficient assembly processes.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Follow strict safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in optical assembly or a related field.
